We read a story in our reading book about a little girl who was always smiling. Then our class had loads of fun making apple smiles that we got to eat. Learning is soooooooo much fun!!!!!

Our entire elementary will be celebrating Constitution Day the week of September 14-18. Constitution Day is a special day in which your child will learn about the history of this special document.

Saturday was Justin’s birthday! We sang Happy Birthday to him on Friday and he got a birthday badge, a birthday card, and he also got to choose a surprise out of the prize drawer. Happy Birthday, Justin!

Our first week of school was fantastic. We did many activities which helped us get to know each other. We also worked hard on learning and following rules and procedures. We started working on Read to Self which is a part of The Daily Five we will be doing each day. Daily Five consists of five literacy stations which students will be working on while I am working with small groups. The stations include: Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Spelling, and Word Work.
Sharing our “Me Bags” was awesome. Each one of us had a chance to sit in the “froggy” chair and share the 5 items in our bag. Mrs. Stockton was so proud of the terrific job we all did when we told about the items in our bag. Second grade is truly the best!!!!
