We will celebrate Rivercrest Homecoming on Sept. 10. In conjunction with the Powder Puff game, a bonfire, hot dog supper and small pep rally will be held Thursday night at the football field. On Friday, we will have our traditional pep rally in the high school gym with all campuses attending. This year’s Homecoming Spirit Week theme is Psychodelic 70′s. Each day during spirit week will have a different dress-up theme.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Please make sure your child has a set of headphones for personal use at school. You can use headphones or earbuds. These will be used in computer lab and in listening centers in the classroom. Having your own set of headphones will help keep head lice and other germs from spreading.

The parent drop off/pick up parking lot will re-open on Monday morning, Aug. 30. Please begin dropping off and picking up on that end of the building. Reminder: The building will not open and students will not be admitted into the building until 7:30 am.

Until the parking lot is fixed, parent drop off/pick up will be in front of the school. We ask that all parents turn in on the south side of the building (closest to Talco) and come through the drive in that direction. You will exit on the road that runs between us and the high school.

Also, the building will not open until 7:30, so please do not plan on bringing your children any earlier than that.

All students and their guardians are invited to bring your school supplies (labeled with your name) to Rivercrest Elementary on Thursday, August 19 from 5:30-7:00. Students can meet their new teachers, unload school supplies, and tour the school. At 7:30 everyone is invited to the football field for “Meet the Rebel,” where all our athletes, band members, and cheerleaders will be introduced.

Students will report back to school on Monday, Aug. 23.
