WANTED: Donkey Basketball Players!

HEE-HAW!  What’s that sound?  Donkey Basketball is coming to town!  The final fundraiser for the Junior Class of Rivercrest High School will begin at 7:00 on Wednesday, February 24th in the Rivercrest High School Jackasstrodome (old gym).  Three games will be played, the first featuring the Senior Honky Tonky Donkeys versus the Junior Jackasstronauts.  Game two will pit the high school/junior high teachers (Muleskinners) against the elementary teachers (Tail Twisters), and game three will be a showdown between the  winning teams from games one and two.  The winners of game three will be declared the Donkey Basketball Champions!

Juniors signed up to play for the Jackasstronauts are Haley Bivins, John English, Haley Eudy, Becky Galyean, Abby Godwin, Brady Kennedy, Kyle McCuller, Loren Rivera, Taylor Smith, Haley Steen, Jordan White, and Spencer Wilson .  Seniors signed up to play for the Honky Tonky Donkeys are Callie Anderson, Aaron Burns, Kelsey Franks, Dustin Gentry, Seton Hawkins, Jessica Jesse, Josh Moore, Luis Porres, Clay Rose, Michael Strunc, Brandi Via, and Bow Willis.

The challenge before us now is RECRUITING FACULTY TO PLAY!  We would like to have around 10-12 players for each team.  We’ve had a few brave souls so far, but we need lots more!  We’re even willing to let spouses stand in for you, if you’re not willing.  Elementary, let Mr. Littlejohn know if you are interested.  High school or junior high, contact Coach Henry or any junior sponsor.  It’s all in good fun, and just think, you’ll have some very memorable photographs!  Don’t miss this opportunity to be a “local celebrity”!

MEET THE DONKEYS:

Tickets will be $8.00 at the door, or buy advance tickets for $6.00 from any member of the Junior Class.    You get in half-price if you’re a player–just $3.00!

In addition, a chili/stew/soup dinner will be served in the JH cafeteria beginning at 6:00.  The $5.00-meal includes soup, a drink (water or tea), and a dessert.

Sorry, no video cameras are allowed, but cameras are welcome.  The RHS Junior Class invites the whole community out for a night of fun-filled family entertainment sure to have you laughing out loud!

  • Dresses should not show cleavage.
  • Short dresses should come to the top of the knee cap.
  • Long dresses should not have a split any higher than just above the knee.
  • Backless dresses should not be lower than the middle of the back.
  • Dresses may not contain see-through material.
  • No visible tattoos
  • Only ear-piercings allowed for females
