Rivercrest Horizons 4th & 5th grade classes will go to the Texas State Fair in Dallas Wednesday, October 5th. We will leave the Elementary School at 8:00 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. Students will watch shows and visit exhibits. They will not ride rides. Each student will donate 3 can goods to the Food Bank and the school will pay their $2.00 admission.
5th Grade GT students had a wonderful field trip to Austin, Texas. We left on Wednesday morning and we ate lunch in Temple. We toured the Bob Bullock Museum when we got to Austin. We checked into Embassy Suites and went swimming. We ate at Joe’s Crab Shack and watched the Bats at the Bridge before going back to the Hotel. Thursday morning we had a great breakfast at the hotel and we toured the LBJ Library and State Capitol in the morning. After we ate lunch, we toured Inner Space Caverns and we headed for Dallas where we ate at Posadas. We arrived at Rivercrest Elementary around 9:30 p.m. Thank God for a safe trip.
Rivercrest Elementary Star Search 2011 will begin March 7, 2011. Any student may enter by performing in music class. If they make it to the second round of competition, they will perform for their grade level. The top students in the school will perform for the entire student body and the Star of 2011 will be determined. BE PREPARED!!!!!
The 5th grade Horizons Class presented “Shh! We’re Writing the Constitution” at the assembly program on Constitution Day, Friday, September 17th. The entire student body sang patriotic songs.
Rivercrest Elementary will have the “Star Search” finals Friday, April 16, 2010. 3rd, 4th & 5th grades will perform at 9:00 a.m. in the Rivercrest Auditorium. K, 1st & 2nd grades will perform at 1:00 p.m. The talent is outstanding this year. Everyone is invited.
Rivercrest Elementary Horizons Students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th grades will present their “Famous Artist Museum” Friday, April 9, 2010 from 1:30-3:00p.m. Everyone is invited.
March is National Music Month and Rivercrest Elementary will be having our annual “Star Search”. Any student in the school may enter the contest. Competition will begin the week of March 8th. Rivercrest Elementary is blessed with many talented students. The competition is tough. BE PREPARED!!!

Corral” Friday, December 18th at 9:00 a.m. for Pre-k, K, 1st & 2nd grade classes and at 10:30 a.m. for 3rd & 4th grade classes. All classes will sing Christmas Songs. Everyone is invited to enjoy the children as they perform.
