Seniors are beginning the play Pygmalion today.
As we read, we will study the following literary elements: stage directions, dialogue and dialect, stereotypes, protagonists, flat and round characters, romance, characterization, comedy, social drama, oxymoron, imagery, irony, simile, satire, ambiguity, theme, and allusion.
We will also practice the following skills: fact and opinion, inferring, paraphrasing, elaborating, evaluating, drawing conclusions, classifying, identifying author’s purpose, identifying bias, comparing and contrasting, identifying propaganda techniques, making critical judgments, summarizing, and analyzing arguments.
