Columbus Day!!! We did many activities for Columbus Day yesterday. One of which was attending a Reader’s Theater performed by Mrs. Williams 3rd grade class. Here are a couple of pictures from the play.

We are still working on nouns in English. Today we played a sorting game with words that we sorted into columns “person, place, and thing”. We worked together in groups and had a lot of fun learning about nouns!
We are learning about nouns in our class! Today we made “Noun Books”. They had to cut out pictures out of magazines and classify them into 3 categories… person, place, or thing. Check out the slideshow below to see a few pictures!

We will be learning about fire prevention this week! We will be talking about having a plan in our classroom as well as home of what to do in case of a fire. Talk with your child about where to go and what to do in case of a fire at home.

Here are a few things we are working on in our classroom!
* Sentence structure- starting with a capital and ending with
punctuation.
* Subtraction- we will be starting our subtraction unit. Please
help your child by using flash cards at home!
* Vocabulary words for the week:
admire- someone you think is special
charity- giving to people in need
challenging- something that is difficult and you have to use all
your skills and determination to do it.
focus- pay careful attention to something.
offer- to ask someone if he or she would like something.
* Animals and their habitats.
* Coloring / cutting / gluing skills
* Reading with expression and fluency. (This is something they need
to be practicing as they read at home too!
